Felicia Robinson, of HopKare, is now one of a select group of professionals nationwide to earn the Senior Home Safety Specialist® designation, identifying her as having obtained the knowledge necessary to help educate older adults and family members on the serious issues of home safety, fall prevention, personal safety and financial exploitation.

Accidental falls have become epidemic in America. Approximately one-third of adults age 65 years or older fall in their home each year, resulting in injury, long-term disability and premature loss of independence. Every 11 seconds an older adult is treated in an emergency room for a fall-related injury, and every 19 minutes an older adult die from a fall. Today seniors are living well into their 80's and 90's. Many can maintain their independence at home but need to be sure their home environment is safe. Millions of boomers with aging parents worry about falls and want to know their loved ones are safe.
